Z3 2001 2.2 Alarm System help please

Hi,

I have the optional 302 alarm system that sets and unsets with the remote key. Should the alarm "chirp" when setting and unsetting in addition to the indicator lights flashing?

If so, is there some magic to enable/disable this?

No chirp from my 2001 2.2i Sport. Not sure any of the later Z3's do either.

My 98 2.8 chirps.

My 2000 3.0 just flashes the indicators when locking, nothing when unlocking.
