Z3 2.3 5 speed leaking transmission

Just bought a 2000 2.3 5speed. Looked under the car and transmission is leaking. Where would this be leaking from

Hi, welcome from me near Lincoln, UK. Looks like it could well be the prop shadt oil seal to me. However if it were me I would thoroughly clean the area with brake cleaner spray first. Also check the oil in the gearbox isn't over full.
Is it Auto or stick?

Its astick 5 speed. Figured it was that i just thought maybe it wasnt since it wasnt leaking down the gearbox

Is there any oil further forward than your picture or is it concentrated around the prop.
If so as Tony says clean drive check fresh oil leak point.

I cleaned the drive shaft and it didnt feel like transmission oil. Im going to wait until the end of the week to look at it again to see what going on

If localised around there more than likely to be.

You need to also remember depending on the manual box type and age it may be filled with atf and not a 75/80 gear oil .
My face-lift 1.9 m43 manual gearbox is filled with automatic transmission fluid.

It has 67k on it so i wasnt expecting it to be leaking or anything. Its a 2.3 so im guessing its a getrag 250.
