In need of z1 rear bumper
The offside rear corner has been gouged and broken into pieces by a slight manoeuvering mistake which is proving to be a massive mistake. I really appreciate all of your help on this guys and if you do happen to hear of one that is available or someone who might have the facilities to make one then please let me knowWhat is the reason for needing one?
If you still have the old one (even slightly damaged) you can have a new one made.
I might be able to make one....depending on the state of what you have (even the broken of pieces would help). The offside rear corner has been gouged and broken into pieces by a slight manoeuvering mistake which is proving to be a massive mistake. Depending on the damage, you don't need a second hand bumper to create the mould.Great thinking guys. I'm on the same wave length. I've got all the pieces in my garage, there are a lot of pieces too. I think the best way to do it would be to get hold of a second hand bumper, prep it so a mould could be made for new fibreglass versions. I right in thinking it's originally a thermo plastic bumper? I was always under the impression the entire body panels were made from a composite material of some sort
Totally understand mate I'm a engineer by trade but no body work experience. Southern EnglandDepending on the damage, you don't need a second hand bumper to create the mould.
With the pieces and filler, it is possible to recreate a model. The piece doesn't need to look good, only the shape needs to be spot-on.
From that model you can than create the mould.
But it does take some advice, skills and practice to create a good mould and therefore a good piece (you can't create a good piece from a bad mould).
Where you are from?
