Been to the hospital to many times lately, but it's a lovely drive to Wrexham over the top of the mountain takes about an hour and a half.Got finished at 3:30 so we thought we would take the even more scenic route home.We drove up the Tanant Valley and stopped in the New inn which is a bit of a contradiction as it was built in th 1700s .then we went to see the church of a Welsh virgin!!!suprise, I was.then a pice of road that reminds me of France energy time I drive it ,steep drop,no barrier and spectacular views,then3 counties in 3 miles

Great pictures Hugh. One day I will get back to your Homeland, last lime was many years ago in the late 70's, we borrowed Shirl's dads Simca 1501 Special (a contradiction in terms there) and we stayed in Colwyn Bay. Shirl had been previously with school and told us about the legend of Bed Gellert.

Rarely a good day when a hospital is part of it, but that drive in a Zed on those roads must go some way for lifting the spirits. :coolsteer)

Have spent many a happy hour touring the roads of North Wales. My wife's brother used to run the YMCA hostel in Rhyl back in the 1980's and we used to ride up from Wolves to visit.
I served my apprenticeship at a steel works, in early 1970's (alas, now long gone), and we enjoyed an annual outward bound weekly stay just outside Betws e coed ??? near Dolwedellyn??? We called it Plas for some reason. I can vividly remember a pub called Cobdens in Dolwedellyn. It's been 40yrs since I was there but I have some lovely memories.
When we got married we spent our annual hols around Port Madog and Halech.

I love Wales. It's a lovely place to explore:cool:

Even worse in flat boring Lincs. Bill. There are a few nice bits but they're so few and far between.

I know what you mean about the hospital visits, my Z hadn't turned a wheel in four months until April (convalescing) but getting better now. Your pictures are great, it's a trek from Kent but hope to take it there.

I can feel for you Si, 7 years ago I had a heart operation and wasn't allowed by the surgeon to Drive, fish even play darts. I still had my Mazda Eunos at that time and when I got the go ahead I really enjoyed that little car.

Also I see where Daz is coming from re hospital visits, we had many during the 2 years our little girl fought leukaemia and although some were very sad and worrying many more were happy times which was a testament to the brilliant staff at Sheffield Children's Hospital where we made a lot of life long friends amongst the staff and other parents.. Our Carla would have been a Z girl no doubt.:):)

Last trip to Wrexham today for a little while, sun was shining so top down and we thought we would be posh so I dug out the tonneau cover for the soft top,and for the rest of the day I drank tea with my pinkie out!and got a lot of strange looks?....on the way back we ventured into @TaffZee territory over the horseshoe pass down to the abbey then we thought we would venture to worlds end
