I’d had my Z for 17 years and have done a fair share of mods. I thought it would be interesting to share mine and hear from others what their favourite mod was.
Could be comfort, style performance or other.
I’ll start.
Mine is fitting a e46 handrest. I lavish it daily.
I’d love to hear from others…

I have 2 favourites. Firstly the seat lift mod. I spent a whole 7.00 euro on parts and did both seats. It made my sport seats a whole lot more comfortable. I used the ZEDONIST DRL kit with indicator function, great aesthetic and practical.

How are you getting on with your LeatherZ armrest pads Ken? Along with the centre armrest in my Z4 they were one of my best buys.

Tony.

Retrofit cruise control. Game changer for motorway journeys and a relative doddle to fit

Ignoring the body kit - I'd say my best mod was the coilovers. Just cheap ones they are. But the ride is much nicer. Going over bumps is smoother, less "clattery" - can't think of a better word to describe it.

Hello Tony, I hope all is well.

I haven't collected the armrests yet they are still with my cousin in the UK. Gotta wait until 19 Dec to collect them and once fitted will no doubt become a favourite mod as well.

Retrimmed steering wheel. The only thing you have to have [one of] your hands on at all times.

Smaller RAID steering wheel - expensive but lovely - and a shortened gear lever without rubber filling - a short shifter for 50 pence!

Storage net on the drivers side is a good idea, I have a spare one in the garage too. If you fitted that yourself - are there preformed holes in the carpet for the clips or did you just force them in?

Cheers

Yeah, two! =))

Tony.

I always think less is more when it comes to the Z3 and having subsequently moved in to an E85 via an E86 and E89 I can't help thinking I'd love another M44. In fact if it wasn't for the season and lack of a garage I know I'd already have one.

Ideally one with standard seats and without the roof bars and most importantly a manual roof - as for mods it would have to be the seat lifters from @Southernboy

The storage net clips are tapered self-tappers, so they just screw into the carpet. The second net is very handy for maps etc if driving by myself.

A little off thread but my fav Z3 mod (TO REMOVE) is the dastardly 'phone holder fitted by the previous owner.... check out the wood screw! If I were Home Secretary this would certainly be a capital offence!!!! ;)
