Bmw part number #51161949793 The little black stubby interior screw cap covers... £4 odd each? Really? Or have I got that wrong?
I know they can be cheeky sods but surely not?

£4.50 each it seems on eBay... I think I need quite a few.... Why are they not 50p? Tiny little itty bitty farty things.Try and get one on eBay
Might be cheaper![]()
I've check ebay.co.uk and I can't find them anywhere cheaperTry and get one on eBay

It ruddy well is considering they are so tiny and fit multiple BMW models...it's a wind up... Come on guys where can I get a bag full for a fiver? That's a lot of money isn't it![]()
Yes, good point... I'm going to main dealer tomorrow so I'll ask.... It's not a big deal having a few of these missing... But it's the little things that bug you. A quid is fine... Even 2 quid.... I've not counted how many in missing but at nearly a fiver a go I'd have to make sure I countedHave you checked at your local BMW dealer or are you going on ebay prices? There are some extortionate prices for items like that on ebay when it's cheaper to go to the dealer. My usual online source of prices suggests about £1 from a dealer.
I've searched for a cheap source of this on ebay (ie China made) and there wasn't any when I've looked previously. Plenty of other copy screws and fittings, some of which are good and some aren't.
But as a rule of thumb I'd say start at the dealer. In my experience small parts like this are rarely as much as you think they will be, often cheaper than ebay copy parts and needless to say guaranteed to fit.
It extends to larger parts like bonnet catches. £10 new from BMW. £10-£20 secondhand on Ebay!
I just pop them off with a small electrical screwdriver. The trouble with these things is if you try and lever them off your screwdriver can slip and damage the surrounding plastic. So people stuff a screwdriver straight through them onto the screw head and destroy them. I've personally found that to be the most sensible approach. I haven't replaced mine yet as I feel even £1 is too much.
Perhaps your hand is a lot more steady than mine. My hand has a tendency to slip off these things! No problem with any other type of fixing. Well okay, I hate those 1cm square clips that secure the door handles on the inside. Which are another expensive part to replace...I just pop them off with a small electrical screwdriver.
