Took the car to my local hand wash place today and when they pressure washed the outside and along the roof line, a fair bit of water leaked into the car. Mainly drivers side, but also some on the passenger side too.

Now I understand high pressure water aimed directly at the seals will likely result in this type of effect, but I also noticed a little leakage when I used a low pressure hose on it last time it was washed.

Looking at the seal, some of it seems to be coming in around top front edge which would lead me to believe the rubber channel and windscreen grommet thingy at each side has shrunk. Am going to try and fill with gasket sealant or something equally flexible to stop this area transfering wster from the outside, in.

Another issue is on the drivers side and the middle bit of seal that seperates when you move the roof back. With the roof up and locked you can see a small gap through to the outside world and the seal along the top of the window doesn't seem completely 100% tight-flush.

Dont think adjusting the hook tension will help as they seem fine and its flush aling the front top edge.

Am sure this has come up before, but any other suggestions to my initial ideas?

I also noticed theres a U-shaped sprung clip on the centre gap on the passenger side, which isnt there on the drivers side. What is this exactly?

Would the spring clip thing be part of the microswitch that tells the pump the roof is in the right place to fold down? Pretty sure that's on the passenger side.
That would make sense. Just seen the cable leading to it. Thanks!

Mine had evidence of seal leakage that I managed to fix.
Three things I know you can do that I did:-
1 One extra turn on the latch hooks, pinching the seal tighter and also pulling in more on the sides.
2 Adjust the door lock bar to pinch the door tighter shut onto the seals
3 Adjust the glass runner angle with washers to angle the glass top edge in tighter.

I would try in that order,
Paul

Good advice. I'll investigate all.
