WTCC - A strong comeback for Tom Coronel in WTCC races Hungary
Coronel finishes eighth and fourth in WTCC rounds at Hungaroring.
After an absence of one weekend during the races at the circuit of Paul Ricard in France, Tom Coronel’s ROAL Motorsport Chevrolet Cruze was ready in time for the third meeting of the year in Budapest.following the major damage during the season opener in Morocco. The 42-year old driver from The Netherlands rewarded the efforts with an eighth and a hard-fought fourth place in the FIA WTCC races at the Hungaroring. Thus, he is classified eleventh in the World Touring Car Championship with 16 points.

Tom, without a doubt is the most talented guy in WTCC, just never really had the right cars. Still he showed amazing things which actually were not possible with these cars.
This year I hope he has a more competitive car with his new Chev. WTCC being bigger.

I've raced this track many, many times on the Playstation. Looks way bumpier in real life, a real handful at times in the braking zones and that long right handed before the start/finish line.
Hey Mike, thank you for posting these videos I really enjoyed watching them. I wondered if Andy had fallen off the grid so to speak although I'm really pleased he hasn't. Happy he is still with BMW too, I remember one year at sports personality time of year Jeremy Clarkson commenting on him being a 3time World champion and not even getting a mention which very poor form. Good that he still drives a zed and not a zee !!

Due to the F1 and MotoGP seasons getting interesting, I kind of like put the WTCC on the back burner and was not following the Dutch driver,Tom Coronel, as I normally do but @PeterJ woke me up again with his posts on FB as he was there at the final race of the season at Macau.

The Race of Macau will mark an important milestone in Tom Coronel’s career: his 25th year in motorsport.
And no one knowing the cheerful Dutchman will have any doubt that the anniversary will be… duly celebrated. There couldn’t be a better place than Macau to do so, as Tom has a long history there: he competed three times in the F3 GP (in the years 1995-97), has taken part in all nine WTCC events held so far and was on the grid also in three pre-WTCC editions of the touring car Guia Race.
