Hello all,

I am looking for a prefacelift widebody Z3 2.8. Budget is around 4k.

The car should be in good condition and well maintained - pre requisites are the sports seats and AC. Otherwise I am flexible on colour combinations. Oh, it should also be manual.

I am based in London but willing to travel for the right car.

If you are willing to part with your pride and joy then please do let me know!

Cheers,
Bill

Don’t let lack of sports seats put you off, they can be easily retrofitted - exactly what I did with mine as the right car came up but WITHOUT sport seats (and in Scotland, I’m in Kent  - I always tend to find cars no less than 3hrs from home :bag:)

My 2.8.
This is what you can achieve  Sadly not for 4K but for that money you can get a nice one.
Good luck with your search.

Hi mate,
No they are genuine Sebring and the exhaust is dual front to back.
S50b32 headers
Z3M cats
Z3m Sebring back boxes.
Axle/diff hanger on the z3 is almost the same as the z3m just has an extra hanger welded on and all the other hangers are welded on and all available from BMW.
It’s got the Alpina throttle body kit, inlet mani, remapped ECU done by an e36 race team.
It’s quite quick now. About the same as a 3.0.
Sounds nice too.
Not as pretty as your gold number though :)

Oh and my 2.8 had a single lambda so I had to re-wire the whole car to take twin lambdas and change ECU ‘s.
Bit of a mission but it’s fun. Not a purists car as it ruins the torque curve and al the power is up top 4 1/2 to 7 1/2

Hi Lee,
No sorry. I also tried to get some info on here as to how to build a Z3M rear end from skinny track 1.9 trailing arms but I had no joy so I got in touch with Randy Forbes. He didn’t know so I contacted Vorslag and they helped a bit.
The rest I did myself and now it’s all braced, has 1000hp driveshafts and ready for an e90 engine.
Happy to share my knowledge with you though :)

Hi Bill,
I’m not sure if red is your kind of colour but there is this car on eBay ( item number 233331181528 )
I know it’s over budget and in Bradford but they appear to be emigrating so they must sell at some point.
It may mean you raising your budget to meet them a little but for the right car it may be worth a look.
I am not affiliated with the seller, it was just that one that caught my eye.
There is also a dealer in Chelmsford Essex who has some nice ones and he has had them for some time.
A couple of them for 2 years. He may be flexible on price.
Good luck.
