This year im looking at sorting the zeds sound system.
Although my zed has the H.K System fitted i think its seen its day.
It may have been good when the car was new but it now quacks and makes all the wrong noises.
Ive brought some new 4" rears and some 5.25" fronts opted for Rockford Fosgate units.
Even the 4" is punchy enough for the rear but its the clarity that will make the difference.
Has anyone found an amp that fits where the stock H.K on sits ? It works fine but it runs alsorts of different ohm ratings for the various speakers as stock and although it will run the 4ohm replacements i think upgrading it will be worth while.
I know some of you have under/behind seat slimline subs how do you find them what kind of room are they taking ?
I thought of removing the standard Hk sub box and building an mdf box to the size of the void and forward facing a single 8" sub Rockford do a slimline that would fit the space so i can upgrade but get it to look stock which is my aim.
I have gone for quite plain looking speakers my rears are only 3 inch at the mo so need to open up the holes and add grills so thought these looked the part.
The grills are plain so not far from the standard look kind of looking for understated if you get me..
Hertz also do an ultra slim sub at under 100mm deep if i go this route just not sure if im gonna have to fit a 5 channel amp and rewire the lot which doesn't phase me but if the HK amp will hold up would be easier.
Not sure its the amp thats the issue its the paper cores on the speakers that have just seen their day any one done this ?
Have read numerous articles but the more you read sometimes the more you get confused
Any advise appreciated
