Did the annual grease removal of the wiper motor disc today as wipers not parking correctly. Not a lot of grease on the disc but some what looked like corrosion?
Cleaned disc but had to revert to a blade to remove corrosion. Wipers now park correctly but:

Intermittent works fine
When set on slow speed only works intermittently
When set on 2nd speed (Fast) only works on slow speed?
Have disassembled twice making sure everything was clean and the terminals in correctly yet still it has the issue?
Could it be the scratch marks on the copper disc or just coincidence the wipers are playing silly and its something else?
Any ideas Zedders?

I would try some fine wet&dry paper on the scratches Paul. A smooth surface will give a better, consistent contact. Also some contact cleaner on the electrical plug can’t hurt Even if you haven’t had it apart.

Tony.

Hope you get to the bottom of it mate. I think the electrical connector could be the key.

Tony.

I know this may be out the ball park slightly have you checked to see if this is creating any fault codes and if so what.
Stephen.

Could it be the relay?

If it’s parking OK now you must’ve done something mate. Can you borrow a switch from anyone with an E85?

Tony.

New relay fitted, no change. Next step order a contact pen (think thats what its called) to coat contacts and copper disc

When you do your testing, are you just sitting in the car in the drive way? If so, I would expect to get the test results you are getting.

The wiper relay has a vehicle speed input. They will work normally when driving down the road, but default down a level (just like yours are now) when the speed drops very low or you stop.
