Word of warning. I was changing the wipers on the Z4 the other day and with the blade off and the arm sprung up being a clumsy git I knocked the arm which then smacked onto the windscreen.

And yes there is enough force in the e89 wiper arm to smash and crack the windscreen 🤬🤬

New screen coming Saturday 😉

What? You didn’t use the Halfrauds service?
Bad luck Niall. A learning point for us all. Next time employ a clumsy git quick fit service. It might be cheaper =))

Seen it happen many times over the years. Very easily done, since I did it years ago I never leave the arms up with no blade attached. Bad luck mate.

Tony.

look at the positives. A nice pristine clear windscreen with no chips, marks or scratches. You don't notice how bad a screen gets, until you have had a new one
True that Pete had a new one for the Z3 4 years ago due to grit blasting etc. Huge difference. Every cloud eh ;)

You are not alone, cracked the wifes Suzuki Alto windscreen today whilst trying to get the wiper arms off their spindles to get at a blocked washer jet pipe. Oh dear I said, shame it wasn't the Z4, that could do with a new screen. New screen for the Alto ordered.

New windscreen fitted yesterday, all good now, MOT on it next week, not expecting anything to fail it on, have given it a good check over.
