winterising the Z3

what it says in the title...


its my first year with my Z so I am looking for advice from those of you who drive them all year round!


advice on tyres and any other seasonal changes I can make to make sure

1) she starts on the button even in the cold..
2) gets good grip and safe handling in winter conditions
3)keeps me warm and dry (there are currently no leaks anywhere but she is not garaged so open to the elements)

current tyres are prestivo sport made by yokohama,they came with the car and T.B.H i'm impressed with the way they are in dry to moderate conditions but in the very wet it does not take much to provoke the back to step out and god knows what they will be like with frost and ice on the ground.


please feel free to suggest things that may seem obvious to you they might not be to me as i was until recently strictly a bike man..


so my knowledge of cars in general is basic although i'm learning fast!

My winter prep is to garage it!

But now and again give it a tickle or two.

You need to get two or three coats of a good quality wax on it.

Something long lasting.

I suggest auto glum hd wax.

Very durable and protecting.

Can use it on the wheels as well.

Possibly re proof the hood?

Auto glym again.

I have the hood cleaner and re-proofer already
So will go ahead and do that..and autoglym HD wax?..okey cokey any thoughts on the tyres?

Can i get away with just the rear?..
