Wing Mirror

My driver side wing mirror has snapped from the base that bolts to the car it looks like the pot metal / aluminium casting has broke on the inside , is there any way to repair them of how to strip them down to investigate it further ?

X8R do a repair kit on ebay or direct from the company, although it’s not metal
I carried out this repair a few years ago and it worked ok, you just have to spray the base to your car colour.
Other option would be to source a good used one.

If you can get the spindle/base out it should be repairable by soldering it.
I’ve had 4 goes so far and not gotten a base free yet, so I don’t really hold out much hope unfortunately.

Just changed my wing mirror base last week got the base from X8R excellent quality
