Hi there,
How do I stop the glass in the wing mirror wobbling about - its generally at higher speeds - maybe above 50.

Thanks.

If its like the z4, then bmw put one tiny spot of glue to hold the mirror to its backing plate, one of mine fell off but wasn't damaged, an the I noticed to was wobbling at speed, so sat it in the the sun an gently removed it, the added more glue an put back on

I had this issue - as above - the glass had detached from the backing plate - a few strategic dabs of tigerseal and they're not going anywhere now!

It could be the glass come loose. Or it could be one or more of the 4 clips that hold it to the internal part of the door mirror assembly. You can't ever be sure what damage/unwanted attention it has received when parked to cause that.

Either way I would take the glass/backing plate off and assess. You need to get a screwdriver right under there and lever from the point of connection. NOT the edge of the glass - you'll guess what will happen.

Thanks for this advice - does the outer mirror casing come apart to give access to this?
