So for today's job I thought I'd get the windscreen washer nozzles sorted - one didn't fit correctly and had become loose and the other seemed to be leaking.

Anyway I'd ordered 2 new jets before Christmas and picked them up from Sytner yesterday (£22).

So I removed the bonnet insulation and found that both the return valves were blocked and had been leaking under the insulation. Tried to remedy the issue but found once separated the valves cannot be reassembled so I now need to order 2 of those.

In the interim I fitted the nozzles and reassembled the supply hose - so from the outside everything looks great but underneath its the same as it was before I started minus a return valve and the insulation.

So yet another rollover job and I'm hoping the hose clamp doesn't break when I remove the other valve. I'm assuming the other valve fits straight into the support bracket that remains without need of a clamp as before but I can't tell from real OEM if this is correct or just the way somebody decided to do it last time. The diagram provides an overview of the parts but not how they should be fitted together.

You can superglue those valves back together if you have some “accelerator” spray Garrie. Glue one part and spray the other. But don’t glue your fingers.

Glad you got sorted, I'm sure it is a common problem I know I have had to replace the very same parts with my car as well.
 
I had a look at mine after the passenger side jets stopped working. My valve on the passenger side has a slow leak and the driver’s side has no valve at all. I also have an electrical connector on the driver’s side jet, but it’s not connected to anything. Presumably this is for heating? I also can’t get the hose to clip back in on the passenger side because the hose it too short and it doesn’t feel like it will survive being forced.

I also have an electrical connector on the driver’s side jet, but it’s not connected to anything.
Heated jets are definitely a thing but they were likely replaced at some point with the non-heated option. I can confirm they will work without the valve but I'm sure the valve must be fitted for a reason - unfortunately I can't tell you what that is.
 
The in-line valves are there to stop the fluid running back to the pump so that you have instant supply to the screen.

Now I understand - bought 2 replacements from Sytner for just over £10 that i just need to get fitted👍
