Morning all

My car originally had the vinyl wrap around the windscreen but it at some point was removed to expose the original paint etc.. however i would like to put this back in as i prefer it..

Here is the car with it on peeling off obviously ha, which is I'm assuming why they removed it

Does any one know if this is a windscreen out job or could i just remove the windscreen rubber seal and replace it after its been wrapped?

Any advise or assistance much appreciated

Many thanks

I removed my "black wrap" around the windscreen to reveal the paint which is body coloured. Managed to get all off without removing the windscreen, so would expect reverse is possible also.

How did you get it off? Did it come off easily? Ours is peeling a bit in places, can't decide what to do with it.

I gently warmed mine with a heat gun to soften the adhesive and managed to slowly peel most of it off.
Then scraped the odd bits left off with an old AA card.
The residue left by the adhesive was a bit of a pig; started out using Autoglym Bug and Tar remover but that was going to cost a fortune as I needed so much so I ended up using petrol on a rag and then when it was all of a good few coats of polish and then wax to finish.

Much as above really. No heat used; residue removed with white spirit. I personally prefer the body colour.

Does anyone know if the windscreen surround is also body-coloured under the chrome trim pieces? It would make sense if all cars got body-coloured surrounds and then the black vinyl or chrome trims were applied later - but thought it would be best to check with you knowledgeable people before I started poking and prying 🙈

Can't see that it would be any different, but don't know.

If you can get the chrome trims off easily and they can be put back on....my car, easily. And you don't want them, I could be interested in buying them..lots of ifs above
