Window seal against top problem

My first challenge in my the ownership of a ‘98 Z3. I purchased new window guide seals for the part where the top and the side window meet from Pelican Parts. The longer and shorter straight ones. And the seal is worse than the original parts I had on there. Is there something I need to adjust with the windows? So they come up a little higher and push into the rubber to make a better seal? I spent nearly $400 on these new rubber seals and they’re going right back because it’s worse than my old dried out ones. Any suggestions? Thanks much.
