Afternoon Chaps The drivers side window rubber is sliding up the channel it sits in when the window is operated/closed. Anyone know how it’s retained within the door ? Not much point dismantling if I need a new part ( looks expensive from dealer) .TIA

If you can get it pushed back down (should be easy), spray some silicone lube into the glass channel then it won’t push the rubber up as the window rises.

I honestly can't remember Peter, it's so long since I had my Z3. It's probably anchored with a plastic button which has torn/pulled out of the rubber. Short of applying some adhesive to the outsides of the rubber, you'll need to take the door card off and have a look.

I looked at RealOEM and it just looks like a simple strip. Used the PNo to search the web to look at photos and I can't see anything that holds it down. No screw hole or anything.

I wonder if there's some tab at the top that anchors it to the top of the small quarterlight window. (Do people still call the small triangular window a quarterlight?) Anyway. If it was me I think I'd smear some adhesive on the front edge and push it down to anchor it to the quarterlight

I’d call it a quarter light ,but like yourself wasn’t too sure if anyone would know what I was talking about lol. Seems to be about £65 to buy so will probably have to strip the door and take a look at what’s going on ,fed up of wasting money!
Starting to get bored of the problems of keeping a 23 year old daily driver on the road, starting to get rust on the floor around the rubber plugs where the carpet holds the water which runs behind the damaged door cards, such a shame as the mechanical side is great just let down by all the various water ingress these seem to suffer.

The window is held in place by three bolts, two from inside (you need to remove the door panel) and one from underneath. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes so I would remove it, check how the rubber is attached, give it a good clean and reattach it with some adhesive. Afterwards lube up the rubber so the window slides freely, shouldn't cause anymore problems then.
