Window leaves gap when door closed

I have an intermittent problem where the window does not always go up and seal instead it seems to sit away from the seal leaving a gap, do you have any ideas what this might be?

have you tried resetting the windows to see if that helps? if not, worth a try (copied from another source)

- Sit in the car, and put the key in position 1, so you have power to the windows.

- Push and hold down the window switch, and keep it held down for 5 seconds after the window is all the way down. This re-sets the memory, telling the motor, in effect, "Remember where we are now? "

- Roll window back up, and release switch.

- Open door. Marvel at the downward motion of the window. Repeat on other side, if needed.

I never knew that.

Me neither, must admit it's a strange feature, never did it on my z3, thought there was something wrong at first till I seen someone else's. Something else to go wrong in future

It is a handy thing to know, I have used it on my Z4 when I was replacing the seats and had the battery disconnected! Need another Z4 in my life
