Hi.
I’m having an issue with the glass in drivers side door. Goes down wonderfully but coming back up it seams to move to the left and catches on the rubber seal and pushes it up. The glass has a lot of play on it back and forth.
Wondered if there was a way to tighten it into a fixed position so reducing the play.
1997 roadster 1.9.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks.

It sounds as though the window regulator is either very badly worn, or broken. They suffer because the glass gets very tight in the rubber channels and when winding them up and down it stresses the regulator. @spurs fan in a coupe (Andy) may have one you could buy.

Tony.

ps. A temporary fix is to spray some silicone spray down the rubber guide as you operate the window.

I had that. Can't remember if theres one bolt or more in there but taking off the door card and watching the gubbins while winding the window up and down you'll see the frame moving side to side where a bolt has loosed just enough to allow side to side movement.

In my case the loose bolt was easily visible and accessible so not hidden away in a corner.

Tightened up the bolt. Problem gone.

Also. Before taking off the door card. Under the door. At the back there's a small bolt. Just feel under the door near the back. Make sure it's not missing or loose.

Also. Top rear of the door. Big rubber flap. Fold that back. In there is a torx screw. Is that loose? If it is then you'll need the door card off coz there's another torx just under the card and that'll be loose too.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll try all the fixes when I get back home and let you know how I get on. If I need a new regulator I will be in touch.

Hi.
Not been on for a while. Sorted my window👍. Now have an issue with my keys. Won’t turn in both doors at all. Will turn in the boot but only locks and unlocks the boot. Starts the car all the time. The key is not remote. It just has the light on.
