Going out to buy a set of MV2s in 18" but will they fit my car??? I have lowered it so will this cause any problems? The tyres on them are 225/35/18

An OEM set of MV2's should fit fine. If genuine they should be a staggered set with 8" 225/40/18 on the front and 8.5" 255/35/18 on the rears.

If they are 225/40/18 all round you either have replicas or a set of four front wheels. If they are reps, then you would need to get the offset value to make sure they are in the correct range.

Don't worry, there are lots of numbers but it's easier than it sounds when written down. Generally E36/E46 3 series wheels are a straight fit, which is why the MVx series are OK.

I've tried to get close ups on the images in the adverts and I can see 255/35/18 tyre size markings on two of the tyres. This means at least 2 of them are rears! It would seem they are a staggered 3 series set. I would suggest a message to the seller and ask him for the exact dimensions of the wheels (stamped on the back) and the tyre sizes fitted to be 100% sure.

One of them is missing an ///M badge though which should be in the little depression by the stud holes.

Found the ad easily enough by searching and looking at the pictures. If you do message him I'd ask him how much tread the tyres have too. "Good tyres" isn't a useful unit of measurement

Hi @Axelf when you message him make sure you ask whether they were from a 3 or 5 series.
The ones from a 5 series wont fit as the offset is too small and were 8" wide the ones from a 3 series and Z4 were staggered 8" front 8.5" rear

http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ look for style 135 on page 7

Standard zed offset is et41 so 6mm further in on the front although the wider wheel will make that sit ok. The rear at et 50 you may need 15/20mm rear spacers to fill the arches but they will fit fine
