Advice sought on these wheels that really took my fancy. Will they fit a Z3 2.8 ?
The technical specs don't mean anything to me to be honest but on the add it reads...E60 19 inch deep dish cruize jwl alloys...front et 15....rear et 20....tyre sizes are front 255/35/zr/19....rear 275/35/zr/19.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you would regret buying 19" wheels Steve. Personally I wouldn't go over 18's .They're seriously wide, some one who knows will no doubt tell you what I can't but I have a suspicion that they might also require spacers.

Tony.

No real clue Steve but that's mahoosive mate. Mine are 18's with 225 front and 255 rear. Not a lot of clearance from tyre top to inner gaurds. Sure somebody will be able to advise much better than me. Look good though.

Thanks for the replies :)
They are a bit big tbh,it's that deep dish style that floats my boat, not too keen on muti spokes though but on these I'd live with it (in summer).
Tony would the spacers be needed to clear the caliper's ?
Shame i can't find something similar in 17 inch.

Either that or/and the suspension I suspect Steve, In all honesty I don't understand "offset", I know what it is but not too sure how it's measured. @GazHyde or @Brian H will likely explain.

Hi Steve,

What width are they? 7.5, 8, 8.5 etc, with this info we can let you know how they compare to the original fitment wheels.

Hi Brian
I don't know what width they are mate it didn't mention it in the description :meh:
I think as Tony and Andy said they are on the big side so I'm going to have a look for a more reasonable size.
Thanks for the response :)

The offsets are no good, you will look like Carlos Fandango, you need to look for ones with offsets from 35 - 40 as ideal fit

Cheers @zedonist
Offset 35 - 40 is that the "et" reference ? and what does it mean ?
Please excuse my ignorance

Where did the photo come from?
This one is quite low resolution, but, if you've got a higher resolution image I can probably get the tyre sizes and hence the wheel size.

Might need to know the offset of these specific wheels if they come with different offset options.
Its the combination of wheel width and offset that defines if the inside of the wheel gives enough clearance and the outside doesn't protrude outside the wheel arch.
Somewhere I've got a spreadsheet that does all the calculations that will determine if a wheel fits (or if spacers are needed to make them fit - highly unlikely if they're deep dish which probably means low offset (I think). I did this to work out what wheels would fit Gail's car so we could put 17" non-staggered for winter tyres. I could soon knock up another if we can get the relevant sizes.

Thanks Ian,The photo is from the advert on Gum Tree,I just repeated what was in the ad description in the post.
It seems quite technical,I didn't realize
I'm backing away from these particular one's now to be fair, they are too big for the zed.

It's actually just some basic maths once you know what the jargon means.

I think you're right though. Just dropped from 19" to 17" on Gail's and it drive a whole lot nicer. Mind you, they were RFTs.
Got 18" on mine and they are on the harder side of comfortable. Just enough give in the sidewall.

19" look great, but the ride suffers frequently beyond what is acceptable and comfortable.

That backs up what I've heard mentioned re the bigger the wheel size the harsher the ride.
It was just that deep dish look that i really like so it's a good job i asked for advice on here or i could have made an expensive mistake :whistle:so thanks to all for the help :D.
Think I'll go back to plan "A" and have the present wheels refurbed.
I saw Edd and Mike on Wheeler Dealers a while ago had some alloys "diamond cut" which gave a great result so might look in to that.

If you fancy some deep dished wheels Steve, there are lots around so don't be in a big rush till you decide what you want mate. I bought my 108's because I'd already thought about some of them before I even bought my Z4!

Hi Bozzy, yes et is offset, and it is the important question to ask, that and bore size so you need for a Z3:

et 35 - 42, the lower the number the further they stick out, the higher the number the further in the arch they sit.

Centre bore needs to be 72.6mm minimum which is most 3 series wheels

5 series have a larger bore but you can use spigot rings,

some Audi and VW wheels will also fit, just check the stats.

Websites like Rimstyle are excellent for new wheel and tyre packages and check the figment for you

Oh short one, love the style, I'd love something like that. Don't know if you recall @brilie coming to clumber at the end of my cruise with us? His wheels I my eyes are the best I've seen in style and how they sit on the car. Hopefully now I've tagged him he may be able to tell you his sizings. My advice would be not to go that big mate. Mine are 18's and I've never been 100% to be honest. I find them to big and my et is 41 so I have to have a slight stretch on the fronts which I hate. It's a mine field out there! :reindeer:
