Most people don't know, but I work in the Defence Industry on Royal Navy Combat Systems.... I don't work with MineHunters though !

This is the result of HMS Chiddingfold reversing squarely into HMS Bangor on Thursday. It's ok no one was hurt.... we've got plenty of bodywork experts on here haven't we !?

The Rebody section has a few GRP experts.

I've got a few metres of 400g/m² chopped strand, a few metres of 300g/m², 5 litres of resin and some acetone to clean your brushes.

Fixing it would be easy (assuming it's just the skin). Making it look pretty will be the hard bit.

Re gearbox - yeah, right =)) . Last message to the engineer "There's a slab for each of you if you can "fix" the gearbox"

Just a thought : Couldn't it be sent to Ukraine to be repaired?

BBC News - Two Royal Navy warships collide off coast of Bahrain

Didn't know you were in Bahrain @Matt Barnes ? I did live in Juffair for a while - crawling with US Navy types from the Naval Base. On the plus side, the burger joints were really good there (I'm not implying anything)

FFS with the middle east on heightened state of alert we really don't need the Royal Navy to be bumping into each other, what is this amateur hour at the circus?

I've seen old harrier jet flying backwards. Other vertical take off/landing planes such as the modern f-35B can probably fly backwards too. Actually more like hovering backwards but you know what I mean.

Fiberglass Minehunter.

If they made em out of steel they'd be better at finding mines.
But the mines might be magnetically attracted to steel, haven’t seen battleship grey T cut but am sure they’ll find some and a quick weekends work should see it right!
