There are two listed
1183687
16146756323
both look identical to me

My fuel gauge is showing zero
(pulling a bit of a vacuum and I get a hiss when I take the cap off, so I’m wondering if it’s a damaged vacuum line but can’t see any problems and the little switch above the carbon canister clicks on and off when I put 12V through it, so just wondering now if the float arm has got stuck or jammed)

was going to take mine out and try and clean it up and replace it but if it was knackered I was going to have a spare one on hand that I could put in.
But a bit confused as to which one it should be.

any ideas?

There are 2 different pump:
- 16146756323 for the normal Z3 like your 2.8 which is for a 3 bar pressure system
- The other is for the Z3M's (S50/S54) with the 5 bar pressure system.

V helpful. Thank you.
weirdly there are lots of 1183687 pumps for sale on eBay (second hand) and not so many of the *******523 version that I would need.
can’t think they are all off z3m’s, so thought they might be interchangeable or different between 1.9 and 2.8

Thank you, that seems to imply that ***687 is commonly fitted to a UK spec 2.8, which is what my car is

realoem for my car shows the ***323 is the pump for it, but it would appear from your research that they’re interchangeable which seems a little weird for 3 and 5 bar pressure systems.
