Hi everyone.Decided to tackle the moving seat problem whilst the weather was kind. Had the new bushes for a while so took the plunge. Removed the seat and quickly realised there was a problem because the slide would not move far enough to reveal the large torx bolt. I could access it through the mounting hole but couldn't remove the torx bolt because the mounting hole is not big enough to get the head of the bolt out. As the slide wouldn't move enough I ended up drilling out the mounting hole so I could take out the torx bolt. What I found when I got the mechanism out was that the threaded block with the bushes was tight up against the end of the rod. Basically I have lost the correct position. I guess it might be a bit of trial and error but on reassembly where would a reasonable position be to start with positioning it.. Presumably if I wired it up to a spare battery I could test it on the bench. Any thoughts would be valued. Thanks

3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
You can easily wire up the motors to a battery on a bench. You need the connector (in the yellow connector) with the red and black wires, these power both motors. The two pin connecter can be removed from the big yellow main connector. You will obviously need the up/down back/forward switch connected.
Can't help with the other stuff though.

Wind both the left and right blocks onto the treads 9 full turns, then assemble.
