Hi All.
I am going to start getting parts for a new sound system.
I currently have a phillips android head unit, which works with any android phone very well.
However since having the car the radio reception is useless, even with the original head unit, and the sound is just awful.
At high volume the sound is terribly distorted, so i'm looking at getting an AMP and new speakers.
This is an area which i have little knowledge, so ive had a look at some of the topics and it seems that Hertz speakers are the ones to get.
Ideally i would like to replace all the speakers which is 4, as i guess the ones in the door cards are components and they are part of the speakers in the foot well and dash, is this correct ?
The ones behind the seats seem a bit small so i was thinking about getting bigger ones, along with adding a sub, maybe by retrofitting the centre compartment area.
My main query is regarding the AMP. they generally are 2 or 4 channel.
I assume this is for the amount of speakers does this mean one set ( pair) of speakers would be one channel?
If this is the case would i need a 2 channel, and another one for the sub?
Any advice much appreciated
Thanks
Wayne
