where do i start ?

Hi all,
Have just joined. My background is that i sold an immaculate Z3 2.8 a couple of years ago. Had an SLK Merc for last year but proved too boring and characterless, so am now looking for a really nice 3.0 Roadster with the the right history and decent spec. Auto not a problem, but after two weeks looking , have been shocked by dealer asking prices as classic status has not arrived with us yet. Has anyone got a nice one for sale ?. Will travel anywhere in the UK to view and am happy to pay a decent price. any suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to the site. I am not surprised at the 3.0 prices going up. After the Ms which are getting out of reach for people wanting a weekend toy the 3.0 is the next on the what everyone prefers list. They were only made from 2000 to 2002 so they are rarer than most of the other Models.

I agree, there's a great deal of overpriced unloved Zed's out there! I paid a high price for an immaculate low miler but I'm pleased I did; it's not an investment, it's a "Lifestyle choice" of course.

The members on here advised me to be patient & assured me there'd be one out there some where - and there was & now it's mine!

Thanks Dirk, that is all very true, have to grit my teeth and wait for the proverbial low ownership/mileage one !

@malcolm manser, don't pass up a well maintained car due to higher milage. These motors are all pretty much bulletproof each with it's own quirks but none you should avoid. Low ownership/milage is not necessarily a guarantee you won't have problems. Keep an open mind! JIM
