When I was at college in the 70's one of the lecturers, a Geordie guy, had a Saab. I worked on a couple after I bailed out of Agricultural Engineering and went into the Motor Trade. Also worked on the Daffodils too, what a beast to drive when one of the drive belts had snapped.

My old boss. back when I was an apprentice, had a Saab similar to the one in the article. Can't recall which model it was, but I think it was powered by a Ford V4 engine or one very similar to the Ford.

It was the Ford V4 in it mate, the Saab 96. I once had a MK. 1 Consul (Granada) with that same engine, boy was there a lot of room under the bonnet.
