What size wheels and tyres would you fit or you currently have on your Z3 on a standard suspension setup. Currently I have 16" Zstars, going up a size would I have to alter my speedo drive.

No the speedo will remain fine going up in wheel size means you will go down in tyre wall size hence the rolling radius remains virtually untouched.
If i remember rightly my speedo now over reads so when it says 30 the cars @29.67mph its very small and over reading is a lot safer than under.
17's-18's tyres 225/45/17- 225/40/18

18's on mine, I like them but but it's a very personal thing. 225 front and 255 rears.

I had the same as Andy when we had the Z3. Staggered set up is best. As for tyres you can get Quality Conti Sport 5s for £140 each for 255/35/18
and the fronts will be cheaper.
But it is personal preference

There's a pattern emerging here, everyone who has posted on this thread has a 2.8 or bigger, maybe my poor 1.9 couldn't handle the weight. :(

I went from 17-18 and really liked the way it drove on the stock 17's but i have to say i find very little difference in ride quality personally.
There are loads of 1.9's on 18's it will be fine

I must admit that my 16" look a little lost in those wheel arches. I'll have to keep a lookout for some new ones on the forum.

I actually like the look of the sixteens but I'm very old school from when sidewalls were wide and soft and gave a much better ride. That is once radials were introduced to the market. Can always buy 17's and keep the 16" for winter. I like the look of 15-16" with a wide whitewall on the zed but not for everyone. I've thought of getting some stick ons in 17" to try them and see how they look. Have never liked the huge wheels with hairbands around them with virtually no side wall to speak of just to fill the wheel well. A wheel barrow probably rides better! JIM

That's a good idea Jim, but I don't take the Zed out in the winter weather unless it's completely dry, so winter wheels would never be used. In fact I've just had my car MOT done yesterday and I'd only done 1,400 in the last 12 months. Must get out more.
