On the advice of @Lee, I have got some 15mm rear wheel spacers. I fitted them this afternoon, and I am really pleased with the change of look. The car looks much meaner now :). I don't know if I was imagining things, but when I sat in the seat after fitting, the car actually felt lower and wider. I will put some pictures up, but the light was poor and doesn't do the spacers justice.

Definitely gives a more solid look, I've got the same style 42s to go on mine at some point. I bought some schnitzer spacers 20mm for the rears and a 10mm front...Hoping they look as good as yours and they are not too much... That extra 5mm shouldnt make much difference should it? @Lee ?

5mm is a very small amount, to be honest I would have gone with 20mm anyway. Mine has 20mm on the rear and 14mm on the fronts. These were taken off my Z3 and look just as good on my Z4.

Tony.

I too have 15 mm rear spacers, however I am going to replace them with 20mm and put the 15mm on the front,
If you're gonna fill the arches mate . . . . . ;)

Tony.

Has anybody had any trouble with rubbing the bodywork when they put spacers on the front?

For a simple mod it makes a big difference. Looks much better.

Depends on offset of your wheels - spacer width and lowering. For example:

My car is lowered 30 mm.

Fronts: I'm running 43 ET alloys 17x8.5 all round with a 7 mm centre bore conversion spacer - I am pushing the alloys out to the limits and getting a slight rub on the inner front guards.

Rears: I am running a 20 mm bolted hub adapter with a 7 mm centre bore conversion spacer - again I am pushing the alloys out to the limits and get rubbing on the rear arch lip.

I am currently looking into resolving the rubbing issue - possibly with a slightly stretched tyre with a 35 wall.

just have your spacers machined down to a custom width
