Well, guess what? Our local wheel refurb specialists are from Milton Keynes. So not so local, but, they do collect and deliver free of charge. If you visit their web site there is loads of info plus contact details at sales@pristinealloywheels.co.uk including local, to you, agents who offer the c&d service.

NORTHERNER ALERT!!

For me there's nothing more irritating or ugly than curbed wheels on your pride and joy.

I have had dealing with AP Tyres in Rotherham on a few occasions for tyres and seen some of the work they do refurbing alloys. http://www.ap-tyres.co.uk/wheel_repairs.html

Must admit I have never had work done by them (that will guarantee I hit a curb in the next week!!) but the shop always has examples of the work they do waiting for customers to pick up and it looks excellent. When I was in there last I'm sure the guy told me they charge less than £50 per wheel.

Checkout their YouTube video too -

@GazHyde here is Tasmania they charge AUD$300 per wheel, that's GBP166. Count your blessings guys!
Ouch! I guess there are fewer places to get them done, so they have you by the short and curlies...

Hi all, I've been quietly enjoying reading the posts and getting a feel for the site whilst deciding what to do first. Had the Z3 nearly two months now and loving it. Had to get rid of everyone else's curbing first. I big shout out for Lepsons Gillingham kent. Left the car Monday they took the wheels off stored the car took tyres off refurbed to original and put it all back together to collect Wednesday evening. Great service and a great resultView attachment 6424
Love these original wheels , thinking of getting them done in black chrome ! Light with a twist of darkness

Is that per wheel, or for all 4? Seems incredibly cheap for all 4 split rims, but horrendously overpriced if per wheel... :wideyed:

Blimey that didn't seem to bad to me but now I think I go and get some more quotes.
Liked the first people because thats all they do wheels wheels wheels and the odd detailing, the other places I have heard of do car repairs and the odd wheels.
Still like they say you don't know its expensive till you have something to compare it to.
Forgot to say the price was me dropping car off, and them doing all the work (wheels off splitting them etc) and then picking it up all done.

Kitkat, that seems a tad expensive.

Theres a wheel specialist up here, well in East Kilbride, and his price for straight powder coating any colour is £40 per wheel.

http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk

For diamond cut and colour it's £70/wheel

For Split Rims it's £90/wheel.

Those are 'drop car off and pick up two days later' prices.

Apparently Quentin Willson recommends them !

I mention them Kitkat because they are a franchise so there is one near you.

Check the link above, surely the prices would be the same?

I think £40 per wheel, which is remove tyre, clean up, paint, lawyer and put tyre back on is reasonable, how ever on a split rim you have to add in removing all the bolts, splitting the rim, mand then the reverse putting them together, and there lies the labour, inwould just ask them to break down the costs, so it is more transparent, and then haggle a bit over the splitting.
