Wheel offset question

The wheels on my facelift car are 7Jx16 ET41 all around.. l am looking at some staggered 8Jx17 front and 9Jx17 rear which are all ET35. Does this difference in the offset mean that the 17's will extend more or less in towards the suspension? Many thanks..

If it's any help I run the same widths and offsets on my summer wheels, despite them being 18's and they fit fine and pretty much in line with the arches. Infact I also have 5mm spacers fitted to the rear and could even space the fronts out another 3-5mm. .

They will be a little further out but should be fine.
