Wheel noise

Driving with the hood down today I noticed a noise coming from the rear nearside wheel.
I seems to come and go, is not very loud, but is definitely a ‘ching, ching, ching kind of sound.
Any ideas?

Take car out drive along hold button in pull hand brake on just a tiny bit see if noise goes if so hand brake shoes and cables need slight adjustment.

Might be the rear disc backing plate/dust shield.. they have a tendency to rust and rattle a bit.

If it is the parking brake shoe hold down pin pulled through the back plate Paul (quite likely) you do not have to replace the back plate. You can repair it.
