Whats This?

my dad told me about them....

My dad has just told me about them :D I'm sure there is one in your toolbox, always wondered what is was.

I was beginning to wonder if it has a modern use.. like getting into a certain persons Wallet

That could be a job for a port-a-power?;)

Tony.

Never let it be said I don't furnish you chaps with the most useful of information. Here you go :wacky:

SPQR was located at the end of Castle Road, Rowlands Castle and was started by Peter Tomkins who had owned a garage in South St, Havant. He also owned Hazlemere Cinema Company and and a tobacco company. The name SPQR was used as Peter had seen the initials used when he had a trip to Italy (latin expression) but said it also stood for Small Profit Quick Return. SPQR originally started out making electronic wind indicators (to show direction of the wind) and then started making the Mini remote gear change unit. Then various other spares for Minis.

The guy who gave me this said his father, who worked there, designed and built a prototype Mini towbar bracket.

Wow. Bet you'll all sleep better at night now. I will as I love all this stuff :)
