Watch out for that icy spot it's about to cause you a lifetime of pain and surgeries!!
were do I send my quidsWe should play these numbers as a forum, everyone pay a donation of a £1 to the forum and that ensures the numbers get played each week, small wins go to the firum upkeep, the jackpot gets split amongst donating members, what do people say?
It wouldn't make any difference, I wouldn't have listened, especially not to and old bloke like me.So you get the chance to travel back 30 years in time, you meet up with your younger self, what would you say?
Wow brilliant story and really made a good point,Sarah has someone to help her get the houses ready for guests if she was as through at her job as checking her pay we wouldn't have to check everything after her.its not minimum wage and there is no set time to finish the job just cbaJoking aside I was fortunate enough to have someone (over 30 years ago actually) who taught me one of life's most important lessons, one that has stuck with me all of that time.
I had just started my first job, the sort of job that was one of those 'this will do until I get a proper job' type of jobs. I was working at my bench in a Sheffield factory when a supplier of ours came in. For the sake of the story I'll refer to him as Bob...................because that was his name!!
He saw a new, fresh faced kid, came over and introduced himself and asked me a little about myself.
About a week later Bob came in again JUST as I was opening my first pay packet. He remembered my name and asked "what you got there?"
"Pay packet" I said.
"First one" he asked, knowing full well it was. "Have you checked it?" he said.
I must have look a little bemused as he added "Check the hourly rate, the hours you've worked, tax, N.I. and your take home pay, because if it's not right go see your wages clerk as it should stand 100% inspection!!".....................As he walked away (and here's the important bit) he said "and don't forget what you did for it should stand 100% inspection too!!"
I must admit I didn't get the message for quite a while but once I did I realised he'd done me a huge favour. I'm not sure he ever realised what he'd done as he passed away not long after but his message is something I've tried to pass on to a number of people I've employed, some get it, some don't.
Without exception the one's who do get it. do well, the one's who don't (or can't be bothered to) get it, don't hang around long.
