Perhaps. It looked a bit more "pastel". 🤷‍♂️

Definitely Topaz.

The definition of unique or rare colour - crap colour that sold in low numbers purchased by customers with absolutely no taste whatsoever

Absolutely. I always laugh when people advertise a 'rare colour' car. Unless it was a limited run, or an individual very expensive colour, it's rare because no-one wanted it.

Not necessarily, Z3 s in aegean blue are quite rare, so too palmetto and that turquoise colour, but very nice. Mind you any brown car, whatever fancy name they call it, you can keep!

Can not tell from the photo but couls this be a Velvet Blue? If yes then is is a rare one.
Velevet and Byzance were special order and depending on interior sometimes were 1 of 1.
Not that it matters anyway, they are still Z3s, undervalued and adored only by some few weird people at a British Forum.

Having owned a Topaz Sport just like that, I'd say it is definitely Topaz too.
@Zephyr, Velvet Blue is quite a purple colour.

Topaz can be a stunning colour, but it's certainly not unique.

But it depends on the sunshine. On a dull day, it's a dull colour:

But on a sunny day, it pops!

A while back (so won't have the very latest colours) I was doing an exercise to see what BMW colours were available and created this spreadsheet

Feel free to download and have a play - Excel ~ BMW Colour picker
