Just had a look at the battery in the boot, it a battery, nice one as well by Bosch.
Even found a meccano sized tool kit with tow hook, and a roll of duck tape in case the roof gets a hole, I guess.

There may be a hole in the end of the battery casing to plug the 90deg connector into. You may have to remove a cap first. The other end of the tube should be through the floor to vent the gasses outside the car.

Your both right thanks, just popped out to the Zed Den and sure enough a hole on the side of the battery. These Germans think of everythink :)

Most up market makes have these vent pipes Mike. All cars where they have the battery sited in the boot or under one of the seats definitely need one.

That makes sense, thought it was that at the time.
Good bit of kit Bosch, never had to get a new one in six years of ownership, let it run flat and just recharged it, no probs.
Worth the money.
