Yes it finally happened to us while in North Yorks.
Parked up in Leyburn after a good Ron up the A1 followed by a tootle
round Masham and Middleham . Lovely day ,weather just right top down
all day When I noticed the dreaded flat tyre ,near side rear, not sure when it
happened ,didn’t feel it at all.
What to do next??? Boot full of luggage,Julie in the front seat,I do have the spare wheel
but the old problem .......nowhere for the punctured wheel ,what a stupid solution to a
puncture .Tried to inflate the tyre but it was having none of it, stuck !! What would you do?
No points for leaving Julie behind !!

If you have recovery with your insurance get it picked up?

Tony.

Carry a wheel size square of 1" foam, some ratchet straps and tie it down to the boot lid.

I have spent so much time with cars without spare wheels, I have bought a kit with puncture repair sticks, which work quite well as a temporary fix, if you can find the source of the puncture and remove the nail or whatever.
The alternative is the squirty sealer stuff, but that means a new tyre.

Only a new tyre if you let the garage convince you that. I understand some garages are happy enough to do it. Ie others just want to sell you a new tyre.

I keep a can in my car. And I’ve used it in anger successfully. It works very well.

Why do you say it means a new tyre? Tyre companies tell you that to sell a new tyre. You can clean the foam out. If the tyre is well worn or has cuts it may not be worth cleaning the foam out but that’s a different matter @hard top

AA to the rescue was the answer on this occasion!
Had to come to the conclusion that I had no spare wheel .
Came to the rescue within 20 mins but had lots of trouble finding
a new tyre. The punctured One was down to the wire on the last 20mm
on the inside of the tyre which when we found out it was almost the full circumference of the tyre .Frightening to think 30 mins before I was doing
70mph 😉on the A1.Thankfully the wheel is OK Paul due to the fact the tyre
was a run flat which I never knew.
Eventually found a part worn at a local garage so it was on the back of the
recovery truck and had the tyre fitted.2D5290C0-D86B-453B-A61A-ACE75AF5CC40.webp

Surprised the tyre got that bad since MOT Brian.

You must be right then t-tony.
My abject and sincere apologies for having wasted my money on a new tyre because I was told that by the fitter.
Keep a good look out in case I get anything else slightly wrong in your view.

@JimS just trying to get correct info out there Jim and if that offends you please feel free to ignore me. No offence mate.
