What didn't come back from the garage?

Hello, bit of a quiz/plea for help...
Took the Z3 in for a service a few months ago, drives great no problems but I'm looking to sell so was starting to clean under the bonnet when I noticed this.

Does anyone know what I'm missing? it's not a trick question I have no idea what it is thats missing but I'd guess I need a new one, does anyone know what it is that's not there?

Hi Gavin it looks as though the "Screw-on" top of the diagnostic socket is missing, but usually they're attached by an "umbilical" cord and it may be hanging down by the side of the diagnostic socket? Worth having look.

The garage might have forgot to replace it after diagnostics check. As your cleaning I would find a nice tight fitting plastic cup or tape it over after first giving it a good clean with electrical cleaner, the last thing you want in that connector is bad contacts. Good luck.

Check they haven't dropped down into the engine bay and its sitting on top of the under tray.

Had a good look yesterday but can't see anything, sure the new one will turn up and the old one'll be sat there staring at me!
