Hey Jim, sorry about my non attendance :sorry:. Not well at the moment, and I slept through the alarm. I woke up about 10 minutes before Mozza rang. Apologies to Mozza as well because I don't really know what I said to him. I vaguely remember him saying something about hospital, but that's it...

Hope the day went as well as it normally does :D

Great coverage with plenty of participants. Good weather, great people, wish I was there with all of you. Can't foresee anything like this happening in Canada. JIM

Lunch In LlanfairPG

Llanfairpwll on Anglesey is known by many as "that place in Wales with the long name". And so you may ask, what does this name mean? Well it goes something like this:
"Saint Mary's Church by the white hazel pool, near the fierce whirlpool with the church of Saint Tysilio by the red cave!"

The true story behind this name is that it was dreamed up by a local businessman during the Victorian period to attract visitors from England.

At this time the railways were a new invention like the iPod and MP3 today. So when they reached Anglesey, a station was built at Llanfairpwll, the first stop after crossing the Menai Straits.
Apparently, visitors would flock to this gentleman's shop to discover the secret cure for lockjaw, said to be sealed in an envelope.

And what was the remedy? A piece of paper printed with the full name of the village!
You can still visit the station today. Now owned by a co-operative of villagers, it has been fully restored and includes the full name plate in its original style.

Great day today thanks Jim for organising. I held back at Llanberis to get some clear road and caught up but then lost touch after waiting for pingu. We had some fun trying to get back but I needed fuel and we ended up back in Betwys with me on fumes. Great day and my car has had a hammering. Got some video but off on holiday tomorrow so will be a while posting that.

Jim have to say you know how to do a cruise! Me, Linda and Toffee would like to thank you for organising this day
around the North, enjoyed it a lot. Toffee did get a little sick on return due to the rolling around in the foot well.:nurse:
Did go into Chester on the Monday and it was well worth the visit. Total mileage when i got back was 705 miles.

Oh Moz.. i did it at 30mpg.:D
Billz.. driving steady............=))
Jim.. liked the shiny new valve caps. You really were running on gas. :nailbiting:
