We've been lucky these last few in Florida. Even Ian last year gave us a wide berth.

We might be lucky with this one right here where we are...Both TC Larry, then later TC Yasi, just missed us, and both had similar track maps... Fingers Crossed...
But for some idea of the size of these things... Here you go...

The last one we had here, kind of bounced off Australia, and made a big mess of New Zealand a week later, that was two years ago and the damage is still obvious.. Oh the Antipodes, a great place to live most of the time...

Better be prepared mate.
We lost more than 400.000 acres and three full towns during the last one and it was one third of what you are showing.
Get on the plane and come over here.

I spent 8 years living in Grand Cayman and both my kids were born there. Hurricane Ivan passed through and flattened everything. Wasnt fun watching my roof fly away or living with no power for the next two months especially when I worked for the power company. Thinking about the kids going though that was a big part of why I moved away.

So TC Jasper looks like a king hit on us, we expect to loose power for a while... But, here is an image of the eye of it from 30,000 ft and offshore, only a Cat 2 fortunately.....
