Water sloshing sound in Z4?

I've noticed that there is a very worrying sound of water sloshing in my 2004 Z4; more noticeable when breaking at a slow speed (with the roof down and no extra noise). This worsened with recent rainfall so I am guessing it is linked; with the sound coming from the sides (sills?).

A Google search shows this is a common (?) problem, though I am not quite sure what the best fix is (or what the cause is either).

I've only had the car for a month and half and there was no issue like this when I purchased it (till we started getting some intense rain in mid June). Just wondering if anyone here has encountered this?

It is common for the Z4 to get water in the side panels, one of which is where the roof motor is located. You need to make sure the drains are clear quickly or your roof motor can be ruined.

If you Google BMW Z4 drain holes there are plenty of pics and UTUBE clips on where they are and how to clean them out
