Nothing to worry about, and very much one of our friendly visitors. You will see various 'bots' appear from time to time. They are automated software robots who catalog the content on this site and make it presentable to the search engine.

We also get the Bing Bot, MSN Bot and several others. Hopefully all the lovely content (posts) they find on here will propel us up to the top of the search engine results!

If they send you to the top, why are they called Google Bots?

To be honest I knew what it was I was just surprised to be able to "see" it's presence on the list of users online. I would imagine looking at your site stats that many appear on a regular basis :D
 
I don't want just anyone looking at my bot :-o
