I use a sponge and bucket, then a wash leather, I throw the sponge away when done, IMO the fluffy gloves are just as bad as they will get impregnated with grit over time, I had one but binned it after a couple of washes, I buy 3 sponges for £1

I only use snow foam and pressure washer in winter months as i find it a p.i.t.a to be honest. Had no trouble using it on the soft top so far. Just don't hold the Lance too close to the car, although it's tempting to do that to remove stubborn crud, it won't do the paint any favours.......so I'm told.
Seems almost everyone has a different way of doing the same job and you can spend a small fortune on car care stuff.
I bought an attachment for the karcher recently, a chasis washer and it's surprising how much muck it fetches off. Bought it mainly for washing the road salt off through winter.

High pressure under car cleaning, I would not do it though if you do not have the under tray under your engine.
The last time I cleaned my car was back in June just before we set off on the Euro cruise.
It will get a good clean before it goes back on the road, but I doubt if I'll spend much more than an hour on it. It will be done by hand with a few buckets of warm soapy water, a soft brush, sponge etc. I use the same 3 for a quid sponge strategy as @Sean d
I like to have a clean car but I'm not into detailing. If I spent hours cleaning my car I'd be scared to get it dirty again and living in a rural village you can't drive more than a few hundred yards without driving through some sort of shot.

Should get it clean without scratches, just a bit damp afterwards.
I chuck the microfibre mitts and drying cloth into the washing machine after each use to get rid of grit etc from them.

Yep that's where I got mine from, still the same price.
I snow foam the soft top all the time and pressure washer it afterwards. Just use the fan and not the jet. Never had any issues with mine..
And no green algae ever since

@Jack Abraham I use a good soap with microfibre mitt. Only use a pressure washer on the wheels and under arches. The car is so small it doesn’t take much cleaning (unlike my X5). Next summer I’ll be putting a H9 coating on the paintwork.
