It all depends on the length of the straight bits and on how twisty the twisty bits are ..... horses for courses

I've had a few outings in my 2.8 with @Sean d in his 2.0 and on the road there is nothing in it,admittedly Sean may be revving his a bit higher through the gears than I need to but maybe that just adds to fun of the 2.0. Just how I see it :).

I've also had a few outings with both @Bozzy and @Sean d and as Steve says on the road there is little difference. A 2.8 will always pull away from a smaller engined car in a straight line - that's physics, and anyone can go fast in a straight line. However getting round the twisties quickly is more up to the driver.

The 1.9 can certainly hold there own in Wales, the 2.8 is front heavy compared to the 1.9, totally different to drive, the 1.9 was a cornering dream, foot down and no drama's, The 2.8 was just as fast around the bends but took a lot more planning and was not as forgiving as the 1.9 get it wrong and you were in trouble. (As I found out in mid Wales on a cruise with Billz hot on my heels.)
