Sorry if we are going over old ground with this one , nice sunny day and off to a meeting in the midlands tomorrow so decided to take the zed rather than my daily workhorse. Temperature gauge sat at about 100 for the first 50 miles then up to 120 for the next 100 miles. Dropped into my folks place to check water level and has plenty, car cooled down then did the next 15 miles to complete the journey and its back at 100 which is where it normally sits. Car is a 64 plate 2 litre with 20k miles on , anyone got any ideas, return trip tomorrow afternoon.

If the water level is ok I'd suspect the water pump not working properly.

I doubt you'd have a cooling system blockage at 20,000 miles, or head gasket issues.

It's been a hot day. I suspect it was just coping with the weather.
