Thanks Kieran . I wanted to get a pic in the hills with some autumnal trees but everyone is so mad on getting out in the country for walks there was literally nowhere to park so I went into town and this spot was just waiting for me

Tony i would say that Picture of the Month winners do reflect the ratio of z3 to z4 owners in this years calendar ( if all the current pics are usable) there are 3 z4 's

The z4 owners just need to get out there a bit more with a camera

And get some more entries put in

I’d vote for a Z4 pic if I thought it was the best one - I really like pic 15 with the white one.

I’m not sure either of those comments stack up, and believe me Steve I am not being in any way critical here. You may be right that more Z4 owners need to participate. But, I have watched this ever since I have had a Z4 and for instance my picture up in the Peak District attracted around 18 “likes” after I posted it from Z3 owners, but very few voted for it in the competition. That is where the problem lies, Z3 owners are very partisan and in general will not vote for a Z4. Which is why I made the comment I did when I posted my entry last month. I don’t think I shall bother any more. Other Z4 owners have said the same thing, that they don’t see any point in posting picture in a “mixed” competition due to the unequal number of Z3 toZ4 owners. Just my point of view.

While I agree a fair bit with what you are saying if you ( and possibly other z4 owners) just decide not to bother posting any entries at all thats not really going to redress the imbalance if anything just makes it worse .

If you go through the entries every month since I restarted Picture of the Month again in January entries by z3 way outnumber z4 entries each month so its little wonder that the z3 does better.

Personally I don't think this is the way to go but if you think you can muster the support and GAZ says its OK happy to run you a separate Z4 only Picture of the Month if you think the current setup is bias towards z3's .


At the end of the day i only collate the threads its the members on here that put in the entries and also vote as well.

Absolutely agree with what you say mate and in no way am I saying it is your fault, please understand that. But, what I am saying is that there are 2 definite different camps when I comes to Z3 and Z4 and I honestly believe never the twain shall meet. Plus the fact that there 3 variants of the Z4 and only one of the Z3. I do think that the POTM is biased towards the Z3, but not intentionally, merely by the fact that there are more Z3 owners than Z4. You can see this physically exhibited at ZedFest each year (well, not this year) but you know what I mean.

As I said mate, please do not take my comments as a personal dig at you because it is not.
