A huge thank you to @Bazza, @Oldguysrule, @Lee, @Shortie_gal, and @pgunter, [Barry & Jan, Trevor & Toni, Lee & Sam and Paul] for making the long trip up North to stay with us at Mint Towers for a weekend of chat/food/drink/banter/laughter and of course some driving on a couple of Mints' Peak District Cruises. The weekend kicked off on Friday night when everyone arrived at Mint Towers, celebrating the start with some red wine and cups of tea
After a good nights rest we all enjoyed bacon or sausage breakfast rolls provided by @Mrs Mint. @Bozzy & @Mrs. Bozzy (Steve & Sara) came over to join us for our first drive out in the Peak District. A drive through some lovely Staffordshire villages and onto the edge of the Peaks arriving at our lunch stop in Winkhill. Suitably refreshed we then headed off into the Peaks proper on some lovely flowing roads finally arriving at our afternoon tea stop at Wetton. Back home in good time for a relax sat outside enjoying a beer in the sunshine. Plenty of time for @Mint to prepare a spag bol tea and @Mrs Mint providing some of her famous apple crumble all of which was washed down with a glass (or two) of wine.
Up early again on Sunday, similar brekky as Saturday then off for another trip out, today a different route but much longer. Lunch was at the Tea room just down the road from the Cat & Fiddle pub. After lunch up around the Dark Peak, down past Ladybower Reservoir and on to out tea stop in Baslow. Back home via the Chatsworth Estate.
A pub meal in the next village to us finished the day.
Monday we all went to a local cafe for breakfast before saying goodbye to the southern crew. We then headed off for another drive, as the weather was so good. It would have been rude not to.
It has been an absolutely superb weekend with great company, great roads, great food and drink and really excellent weather. What more could you ask for...
Some pics to prove it
Roll on the next one...
