Visitor with Z3 "M"

My son and I were busy changing the alternator regulator on the E85 3.0i roadster which stoped charging the batt this morning when we had a visitor with a real nice Z3 "M" roadster. It transpired that this car is likely the very first Z3 that @GazHyde drove. Any way the owner tried to sell it to me but being a wise old Zed'er I managed to turn the tables on him and sell him a hard top.

Nearly fell in to the trap of buying a new alternator for my Z4 E85 (£160+ for recon Bosch) this morning when I thought there was no alternative, but a good friend found me a regulator which my son and I changed. Hardest part was getting the belt back on from above without taking anything other than the alternator off. The lower alternator mounting bolt which can't be seen from above is a real pain to get lined up but after giving it one last try we managed it. Meter tells me all is well and cost was £29. Here's the part used.

Looked on Internet YouTube to see how easy it was to change after using the volt meter to determine what the problem was, well happy.
